Orphan Fansubs is working on subtitling this. They got it translated, but discovered their raw was encoded really oddly, so they asked if I'd be willing to recapture from my laserdisc, so here we are.
However, it seems their QC folks have gone on walkabout or something, so Orphan is a bit stuck at the moment. If you have the time and willingness to perform QC on their script for Nora, or any other scripts for that matter, please contact Orphan at http://collectr.blogspot.com/
Some words on the original source: The laserdisc is suffering from preliminary laser rot (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Disc_rot). The previous capture has the same problem. In theory, I could filter out the rot artifacts, which appear as little horizontal black-and-white blips - if this were a live-action title it would be fairly trivial. Unfortunately, if I try to filter them out on an anime title, the filter can't distinguish between the little blips I'm trying to filter and the actual black lines found all over the screen in any given anime. They'd probably have to be hand-painted out, frame-by-frame, and I'm not the guy who is up for doing that.
This title also sufferes from a problem I'm going to call "line glimmer." See that horizonal line above Nora's head at around 23:25? That's what I'm referring to. If you look at it frame-by-frame, you'll see the line is actually changing in thickness each frame. At first I thought it was something I did wrong, but no, if you look at the unfiltered DVD conversion you'll see that's actually how the original source is. "Yaay!"
YES, I'm still working on Miracle Girls, no, the next batch won't be ready for a few more weeks, this stuff is very time-consuming.
Raw max bitrate DVD included for archival purposes. Because maybe some maniac out there wants to paint out those little blips someday.
