I’ve uploaded and written about Anna Tsuchiya’s time as part of the duo Spin Aqua and then the EP that marked the start of her solo career. Strip Me? is chronologically the next album in her career and her debut studio album. At the time Tsuchiya was still with Mad Prey Records; later she would change labels and go to Avex Trax. Tsuchiya wrote almost all of the lyrics herself, collaborating with Rie Eto, who writes for many singers, but Mad Prey Records brought in an abnormally large amount of musicians to compose the album. Even though Strip Me? has fifteen tracks more than twenty people are credited for writing the music, and the list of producers and arrangers is hefty as well. It’s uncommon for so many people to work on an album. That makes Strip Me? impressive for (in my opinion) having a great balance between variety and consistency. The rock music in combination with Anna Tsuchiya’s vocals and lyricism instantly garnered favorable comparisons to Nanase Aikawa, who at that time had released an atypical ballad album in 2005 in contrast to her usual pop-rock. Tsuchiya’s album has less pop to it, but personally I believe the comparison is fair and accurate. So if you enjoyed Nanase then you will probably like Strip Me?
As always enjoy the music! I own all of Tsuchiya’s albums so I will upload the rest in chronological order as I come across them in my collection. And if anyone wants those albums by Aikawa just let me know and I’ll be happy to dig them back up and re-rip them.
Note: I am still having unstable upload bandwidth so I'm not seeding as fast as usual. Sorry about that to all the initial leechers.
Update: Thanks all seeders for helping to share faster! :)
