Tonight I was actually looking through my stacks of albums trying to find a rap album when I found yet another Rimi Natsukawa CD, which is about as far away from Japanese rap as you could get, heh. I know some of you have really enjoyed her music so I ripped this one right away. Ayakaji no Ne is Natsukawa’s fourth studio album. And like her previous work it contains a lot of collaborations with other Okinawan singers and song-writers, like Ryoko Moriyama, Tetsuya Murakami, and “Johnny” Ginowan. The overall light-hearted lyrics with their ephemeral metaphors of nature and love are fitting for Natsukawa’s crystalline vocals, while the music itself is soft and serene. Personally, I think all of Natsukawa’s albums are great, and Ayakaji no Ne is more evidence of why she is a highly respected folk-pop singer.
I hope you all enjoy the album as always!
(Note: The rap album I was originally searching for is The Best of FB by Fire Ball. It is a two-disc best-of album. However, my copy of the first CD has some damage to it and as a result I cannot rip or play a few of the tracks; the second CD plays without error. If anyone else owns the album and could upload it I would be very grateful.)
(Note 2: Damnit. I just noticed that I made a typo in the album name for the MP3 tags of each track. My apologies.)
