This is the first studio album by Mell from I’ve Sound: #546167 has more details about the rest of the utahime. The album contains four new songs, almost entirely thanks to Tomoyuki Nakazawa. The other eight tracks, mostly written and produced by I’ve Sound leader Kazuya Takase, are either throw-backs to old eroge for which I’ve Sound was known, or they’re anime OPs and EDs. As a result, I expect ninety-nine of NyaaTorrents users to recognize at least some of these, heh. I mean—who seriously didn’t at least watch one episode of ‘Sky Girls’? I rest my case. (Coincidentally the only song on MELLSCOPE written by Maiko Iuchi, who would write only one song on Mell’s sophmore album.)
The album’s biggest surprise comes with the closer, a collaboration between Mell and the French electronic group Deep Forest. Mell went on a promotional photograph tour through Franch for MELLSCOPE, but I have no idea if the collaboration was planned ahead of time or not. In any case, it makes an interesting appearance.
