Sorry guys about not uploading anything for a few days. Just been busy.
Anyways—tonight I’m uploading the debut album of KCO, i.e. Keiko Yamada. She is best known as the front-woman and vocalist of Globe. But in a few instances she has released some solo work (sort of). In 2003 KCO released the eponymous KCO, a short EP. Then her focus returned to Globe and it would be years before Keiko would release this full-length album. I say that it is “sort of” a solo album because all of the songs were produced by Tetsuya Komuro. That is, the Tetsuya ‘TK’ Komuro who was responsible for producing the music of so many chart-topping artists in the 90’s and 2000’s, e.g. hitomi, Namie Amuro, and Ami Suzuki. TK is also a member of TM Network and—more importantly for this album—Globe, alongside his then wife Keiko ‘KCO’ Yamada. So technically O-Crazy Luv is a solo album for Yamada, but in reality it is the result of both husband and wife working closely together during recording.
O-Crazy Luv came in two versions. The limited edition, which I don’t own (sorry!), came with a DVD that has the music video for 春の雪 (Haru no Yuki). The two versions have the same songs and track layout though, so the DVD was the only difference. I don’t remember this album selling particularly well although it was no flop; but maybe my memory is wrong, heh. Keiko is a talented singer and TK a terrific producer, so the album is a sonically solid piece of J-Pop. However, Keiko Yamada is not a particularly great lyricist in my opinion, and in that respect O-Crazy Luv is pedestrian, typical J-Pop fare. I still enjoy it though.
Hope you all enjoy it too! Will upload some more albums in the next couple of days to make up for my recent absence. And I’m going to try and fulfill some long-standing requests by sitting down and searching through my collection.
