Game Center CX Episode 152 - Yoshi's Island (english subtitles by DarknessSavior)
Greetings, all! Welcome to my first full Game Center CX release!
**I'm still in need of a timer and translation checker for this project. I could translate and release episodes MUCH faster if I had the help that I'm asking for. So if you've got the skills, email me or message me on YouTube and we can try to work something out.**
Do note that just because you see "Translation Checker: Loren" at the end of this video, does not mean that she is a permanent member of this project. That's just a friend doing me a favor in the meantime. Please consider contacting me if you can help with the project. For example, on this video there were over 1040 lines. Out of those? I only needed about 40 or so checked. It's really not a large amount of work. But sometimes it just helps to have a second pair of ears, y'know?
I also REALLY need a timer and typesetter. Me having to do four people's worth of work (translator, editor, typesetter, and timer) made this take FOREVER to get out. Please, I can't stress that enough. Please contact me if you have the skills and interest to work on this project.
Translation Notes:
Piranha Plant = Lil' Chomper Flower (because they're in the ground, not in pipes) Winged Cloud = Question Mark Cloud Chomps = Bow-Wows World 1-2 = "Beware of Gigantic Bow-Wows" Burts = Bowl Brothers Burt the Bashful = Big Bowl Fuzzy = Cotton Ball/Cotton People Salvo the Slime = Big Slime Lemon Drops = Slimes Koopa Troopa = Indifferent/Careless (Nokonoko, which explains the "Nok Nok Shell" in Super Mario RPG) Boos = Shyness (goes along with their behavior, don't it?) Bigger Boo = Frightful Shyness Fang = Dried (no idea, maybe because that's the sound they make?) Bandits = Feiht (Thief backwards-ish, in Japanese thief is "dorobou" and the Japanese name is "Borodou") Catfish = Kadfish (in Japanese catfish is "namazu", the Japanese name for this enemy simple take the first two syllables and swap them around a bit to make it sound funny). Navel Piranha = Giant Chomper Marching Milde = Big Popper (as in the sound of like...bubble-wrap) Milde = Poppers
During the arcade segment, the boss name for the Karnov guy is "Flash Flood" in Japanese.
**Special Note** For the Prince Froggy boss battle, that is actually what it says in Japanese. I normally would've went with a combination of the English and Japanese scripts and left it out, but both Arino AND the announcer say multiple things about how vulgar Kamek was.
Also, when Arino makes it to the World 4 mid-boss, the announcer accidentally calls it the World 3 mid-boss. Oops?
It also might be worth mentioning that for most of the text in the game, I did in fact go back and look at the English release for what was being said. If there was something worth adding from the Japanese text, I added it (especially if Arino or someone else mentioned it aloud). But I did my best to keep most of the wording and style of the English release in mind.
