NIPPON STYLE: Yuki Torii's World of Neverending Elegance Yuki Torii, Designer
The brand began in 1962 when she displayed with her mother, Kimiko, at the Torii boutique. Its colorful printed patterns made it the original kawaii, ultra-cute brand but it also established a reputation for elegance at the December '75 Paris Pret-a-Porter collection and elsewhere. We report on this year's fiftieth anniversary special fashion show and look for the creative essence of the designer of this grand old brand.
