NIPPON STYLE: THEATRE PRODUCTS - Akira Takeuchi and Tayuka Nakanishi Theatre Products was established in 2001 under the concept that clothes can transform the world into a stage. The brand's Japanese elegance and embellishments worthy of a princess draw accolades every season. For its 10th anniversary, the brand teamed up with the Yokohama Triennale to stage a show on an old sailing vessel, the Nihon-maru. For the occasion, a ballet was choreographed and a score was composed. The imaginative performance celebrated the sheer joy of clothing. We follow Takeuchi and Nakanishi as they prepare for the show. And we seek to convey their design philosophy for transcending preconceived ideas.
