Nippon Style: Fashion Extravaganza - Harajuku Fashion Style Harajuku was fashion in the seventies and eighties. The district that gave rise to the Takenoko-zoku, Goth-Loli and Uraharakei has, however, been slightly losing its vanguard image as it diversifies instead into everything from revealing GAL costumes to fast brands like ZARA and H&M, and in a sense becomes more conventional. Amid these trends, though, there is plenty to enjoy in the fine, fun details that set each brand apart even in this casual atmosphere and are so very Harajuku! And a project is now underway to highlight these attractions from many different angles. It is the work of the grand old Harajuku fashion hub, LAFORET HARAJUKU. This autumn, 110 shops have prepared shows, booths and other activities aimed at boosting the whole store. The original fashion department store is lifting the original fashion town by displaying all the fun of Harajuku fashion.

Tokyo Buzz: Popular Shibu-iro - Austere Colors for Quality Retro-Fashion Austere colors are the theme of autumn retro-fashion this year. Deep colors radiate relaxed, feminine charm, from glorious Bordeaux to mustard and moss green. They are being applied not only to outer and bottom garments but also to bags and stoles. We propose our own austere color coordination plan for "shibu-iro" fashion.
