Nippon Style: Yoshitaka Haba, Book Director Yoshitaka Haba is often called a "book director." Basically he selects books for individuals, companies and institutions. He worked for a leading Tokyo bookstore before going independent. Since then he has been providing directorial advice to the National Arts Center in Tokyo, department stores, hospitals and trendy fashion boutiques, such as 45rpm. He has been drawing attention for his innovative bookshelf displays and collections in places where you wouldn't normally expect to find them. People are fond of his installations where works of philosophy are tucked in alongside manga. We learn of Yoshitaka Haba's philosophy and observe him reach out to people by showing them the wonder of books.
